Does anyone know how to make a smoothie without a blender?

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008
Kelly asked:

My blender is broken, and I don’t know if it would be worth smooshing a bunch of fruit and ice by hand. Is there any other inexpensive alternative that would not include buying an actual smoothie or blender?

I broke the pitcher to my Durabrand blender. I hate to toss the whole thing if I can find another pitcher to fit it. It is a Durabrand blender, 350W motor, 6 speed with pulse, stainless blades. The pitcher was 48oz.

How can mealworms end up in a closed blender in a cabinet?

Friday, May 9th, 2008
Cynthia asked:

I believe myself to be one of the cleanest people I know. I went to use my blender, which was put away in my cabinet cleaned, when I opened the top a mealworm fell. When I looked inside, there were more in the crevice of the blade and the blender inside, needless to say I freaked. If I wash it and dry it before I close it and put it away, how can there be mealworms inside? Did someone play a joke, or should I be changing the way I store my stuff?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008
Fender asked:

I’ve bought a new blender and I’m making protein shakes to help loose weight. I’m a double extra large and I want to get back down to a large for theres this lovely jacket I want to buy and wear. I’ve lost 15 kilos so far by just walking everywhere and bike riding. So my question again What lovely drinks can you make with a blender?

Where can I get a new rubber washer for my blender?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008
Lisa H asked:

I live in Ottawa, Canada. The rubber washer (ring) for my blender is so old and misshapen that it doesn’t seal any more. The rest of the blender is perfectly good, so I don’t want to buy a new one, just a new rubber ring. They seem to cost about $1 online, but shipping is more than that and I can’t find a supplier that will ship to Canada. My blender is a standard blender (i.e., fits Mason jars) so I think any “brand” of ring for a standard sized blender will do. Aside from buying a used blender at a second-hand shop and using its ring, where can I buy just a ring?
(answers that allow me to replace my rubber washer honestly preferred)

Can a blender function as a shaved ice/snow cone machine?

lol4ever04 asked:

In other words, can a blender produce the same results as a shaved ice/snow cone machine? Or is it not powerful enough?
