What Is The Best Blender On The Market?

Monday, June 30th, 2008
LUCKY3 asked:

Everyday I use a blender to make protein shakes (ice, frozen fruit and mix). The problem I incur is that I must stop the blender every few seconds and push the top unblended portion down towards the blade. Is there any blender–that even if full–can blend all contents without assistance?

Can you make soups in a blender without cooking them first and then heat them up after blending?

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008
silkkat50 asked:

I just wondered if this would be feasable because people blend soups after cooking them, which may lose some of the vitamins, i wondered if you could stick all your veg in a blender from fresh, puree it all, add your stock and then heat it up to eat? What do you think?

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008
Slick asked:

I want to make a margarita at home, and I don’t have a shaker to make crushed ice. So, can a blender make crushed ice? If so, give me instructions on how to make it. Thank you.

Is a blender a suitable substitute for a food processor?

Monday, June 16th, 2008
Stella asked:

I’m making a berry pie. I have to crush graham crackers for the crust and puree berries for the filling. What do you think? Do I need to borrow/buy a food processor for this or can I just use my blender?

Blender ratings: Difference between ability to puree and smoothie?

Saturday, June 14th, 2008
Andy S asked:

I’m in the market for a good blender. In reading Consumer Reports, they rated a Kitchen Aid excellent for purees and very good for smoothies. They rated a Braun blender exactly the opposite of the KitchenAid (very good for purees, excellent for smoothies). Isn’t the ability to puree or smoothie the same thing?
