Do blenders destroy nutrients?

Saturday, May 29th, 2010
Capybara asked:

I was wondering if drinking juice from a blender is equivalent health-wise to eating whole fruit? The exact same ingredients would be going in. They’re just getting mashed up in the blender instead of my belly.

Does it destroy the fiber or nutrients?

Famous Blender Manufacturers

Saturday, May 29th, 2010
Nayan Choure asked:

A blender is a kitchen appliance generally used to mix ingredients or crush solid ingredients to be grind. This is an upright stationary and electrical device. These are usually found in our kitchens and in some laboratories for research and experimentation purposes.

A container is found inside made of glass though there are those made of plastic and stainless steel. It closes with a lid on top to prevent spills during operation. It traps the ingredients while the blender is running. The blade is assembled at the bottom used to blend and crush the ingredients while being mixed.

The appliance has different speeds. There are high powered blenders and low powered blenders. It also comes in many models with varied features. One type is the immersion blender which has no container. It only has a mixing head equipped with blades.

Food processors are like blenders also and are more used for thicker mixtures or consistency. It is primarily used in baking to mix creams, whipped creams and the like.

There are many trusted brands of blenders. First is the Oster Blenders that started with John Oster. He tried to market what he called the hand operated hair clipper. By the year 1924, his idea ventured into new products and became the leading brand of their country.

The very first successful blender was the Osterizer also made by the Oster Manufacturing Company. This kind of blender can both be juice extractors and mixers. They have become Sunbeam Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary company because of the success of the company. As of now, they have proven to be both stylish and functional. Their blenders are known to all performers and they got no complaints from them. Below are some of their known blenders.

Oster Citrus Juices has a pulp and seed separator for all kinds of fruits that you want to juice up. This is very convenient to use in the counter or even in the table. It is the perfect blender for your kitchen because it has easy cord storage.

Oster 4093 Classic Beehive Blender has a 500 watt motor. It has 2 kinds of speed. There is also a slow speed pulse function for easy control. Its container is made of glass and can accommodate up to 40 ounces. It only measures 16 x 7.25 inches.

Oster 6854 14 Speed Blender is a glass container blender. It can accommodate from 40 to 44 ounces. This has been summarized by many users to have just the average of what they really need.

The Cuisinart Blenders were from Carl and Shirley Sontheimer. This company came from the interest of electronics and cooking of Carl. These models were developed because of the will of two persons (Carl and Shirley) to develop machines from home and restaurants to be used in food preparations. These machines were of very refined designs. As of now the Cuisinart blenders do not only have sleek designs but also have powerful motors. These machines are very versatile in every kitchen. It has a very large capacity to store food.

One of their well known products is the PowerBlend Duet. This is both a blender and a food processor, and comes with a 7 speed touchpad control. It has a heavy duty motor of 500 watts. It is seen in many home kitchens, a sure proof of its durability and excellent performance.

Bamix The Ultimate Blender

Thursday, May 20th, 2010
Charley asked:

My Granny always told me “When you buy cheap you get cheap and there’s no value in cheap”

I burnt out three or four cheap hand held stick blenders before I decided to pay the extra and buy the Swiss made Bamix Blender.I have owned my Bamix for almost ten years’ now,. Granny was right If I had gone for the Bamix in the first place I would not have wasted all the money I paid for blenders that lasted me a matter of months.

Sure those cheap blenders looked good on the outside but it’s what happens inside that is important. Bamix is truly the Rolls Royce of blenders. Its Swiss made 2 speed motor is not only extremely powerful but also whisper quiet and vibration free.

As soon as you use a Bamix you know you own a piece of professional kitchen. Its no wonder it’s the number one choice in professional restaurants. In fact Master Chef Gordon Ramsay decided to endorse Bamix after using one for almost 20 years.

Bamix my number one choice when choosing a wedding gift for my many friends’ nieces and nephews who have decided to spend their lives together over the last few years. Incidentally I always pass on Granny’s advice.

My personal choice is the Bamix Deluxe. The model Gordon Ramsay Recommends for domestic use and has put his name to.

The Bamix Deluxe Signature Edition blender comes with three blades:

a mincer, a beater and a whisk.

It also has dry mill accessory, a free standing storage pedestal, an instruction DVD, and an excellent spiral-bound Bamix cookbook.

The Bamix Swissline This stylish model comes with three blades:

a mincer, a beater and a whisk

900ml Jug, Cookbook & DVD, Wet / Dry Mill, Swissline Stand

The Bamix Gastro the choice of most restaurateurs because of its longer wand for use in commercial saucepans etc.

comes with three blades:

a mincer, a beater and a whisk and a small stand

All models are Swiss Made from the finest materials. Have a motor and shaft that are built for vibration-free operation and almost no noise during operation.
